FHS Crew Boys Coach: Laura Butterfield, Ph.D. – FHS Crew Boys Coach: Laura rowed novice thru varsity, including stroke seat, at WPI for 3 years. She has completed the USRowing level 1 and 2 coaching certification programs. In addition to being in her 6th year of coaching the FHS Crew, she is in her 11th year as a science teacher at FHS. As the head coach for 4 years, she managed all aspects of the program, and in that time was responsible for increased recruitment and retention (from 35 participants to nearly 100) and improvements in competition. She is currently the Head Boys and Varsity Coach, taking all varsity boats to silver and gold medals in the CT State Championships in Spring 2007, and first boat to the petit finals at NERIA in Spring of 2008.

Rodney Meissner

FHS Crew Girls Coach: Rodney came to the Farmington team last year. He has over 10 years of coaching experience, coaching at both the high school and collegiate level. After serving as Head coach with two previous programs, he has a very strong background with the organizational and administrative aspects of the sport. He has received coaching certifications from both USRowing and State of Connecticut.
